[0006] DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION With reference to FIG. 1, the invention is here illustrated in a domestic electrical installation 1 comprising a first, second and third electrical module 2a, 2b, 2c of the invention. As part of a multimedia installation, it could be for example an Internet home gateway, a decoder for television and a video game console, said multimedia installation then in addition to a television, no shown, connected to the aforementioned electrical modules. Each of the electrical modules 2 is adapted to operate while being connected or not to another electrical module of the same type. By "of the same type" is meant that these electrical modules have compatible electrical interfaces and are adapted to cooperate to achieve together at least one particular function. Thus, again as part of a multimedia installation, the video game console can operate autonomously but can also be connected to the home gateway to receive data from the Internet network for example to interact with other players . Each electrical module 2 comprises a housing 3 inside which is mounted at least one electrical card 4 adapted to implement functions specific to the electrical module 2 and possibly special functions resulting from a possible cooperation between modules. First connection means 5 and second connection means 6 grouped together in the same first electrical connector 7, in this case a female connector, as well as connection means 8 are arranged on each housing 3. The first connection means 5 are intended to connect the electrical module to a power supply external to the module in question. By "external power supply" is meant both a power supply supplied via a mains power supply and a power supply supplied by another electrical module 2.
[0007] The second connection means 6 allow the electrical module 3 to exchange first data with the outside of the electrical module 3. By "the outside of the electrical module" is meant here that the first data is exchanged with any equipment or with another electrical module 2. The connecting means 8 comprise an arm 9, better visible in Figure 2, which itself comprises a first end 10 fixed to the housing 3, a body 11, a second end 12 comprising a second connector male electrical 13 complementary to the first electrical connector 7, and a gripping zone 17 located on the second end 12. Electrical cables 14 connecting the first end 10 and the second electrical connector 13 circulate in the body 11 of the arm 9. The first connector Electrical 7 and the arm 9 of the electric modules 3 are here used, on the one hand, to ensure a supply of three mo electrical dules 2 of the domestic electrical installation and, secondly, to ensure exchange of connection data between the three electrical modules 2. It is now described in more detail how are electrically connected to each other the first electrical module 2a , the second electrical module 2b, and the third electrical module 2c. The first electrical module 2a is connected via the first connection means 5 of the first electrical connector 7 of the first electrical module 2a and via a standard power supply cable 15 to an electrical mains socket 16. The electrical card 4 of the first electrical module 2a comprises a power supply circuit which is thus powered by the voltage supplied by the mains electrical socket 16. The power supply circuit of the electrical card 4 of the first electrical module 2a supplies one or more power supplies to the remainder of the electrical card 4 and a power supply connecting the second module 2b via the arm 9 of the first electrical module 2a, said link power being adapted to power the electrical card 4 of the second electrical module 2b. In addition, the electrical board 4 of the electrical module 2a and the electrical board 4 of the electrical module 2b exchange connection data via the arm 9 of the first electrical module 2a. The second electrical connector 13 of the arm 9 of the first electrical module 2a is connected for this purpose to the first electrical connector 7 of the second electrical module 2b. The second electrical module 2b is powered by the first electrical module 2a, and is adapted to exchange connection data with the first electrical module 2a. The second electrical module 2b is further connected to the third electrical module 2c. The electrical card 4 of the second electrical module 2b provides a link power supply to the third electrical module 2c via the arm 9 of the second electrical module 2b. In addition, the electrical board 4 of the second electrical module 2b and the electrical board 4 of the third electrical module 2c exchange connection data via the arm 9 of the second electrical module 2b. The second electrical connector 13 of the arm 9 of the second electrical module 2b is connected for this purpose to the first electrical connector 7 of the third electrical module 2c. The third electrical module 2c is powered by the second electrical module 2b, and is adapted to exchange connection data with the second electrical module 2b. Thus, the link data exchanged between the first electrical module 2a and the third electrical module 2c pass through the second electrical module 2b. It is therefore noted that the arms 9 of the first electrical module 2a and the second electrical module 2b are respectively connected to the second electrical module 2b 30 and the third electrical module 2c, while the arm 9 of the third electrical module 2c is not used. The term "connection position" is the position in which the arm 9 of the electrical modules 2a, 2b is located which is connected to another electrical module, and the "rest position" is the position in which the arm 9 of the third module is located. 2c which is not connected to another electrical module. Each housing 3 of electrical module 2 comprises a female dummy electrical connector 20 complementary to the second electrical connector 13 and adapted to receive the second electrical connector 13 when the arm is positioned in the rest position. The first end 10 of the arm 9 is pivotally mounted on the housing 3, so that a user can selectively position the arm 9 in the connection position or in the rest position by grasping it manually by the gripping zone 17 and by doing so. swing. The arm 9 has a minimum length sufficient to electrically connect any two modules 2 that can be integrated into the installation 1, regardless of the height of said modules 2. The arm 9 is here fixed to the housing 3 of the electrical module 2 and can not be removed. Alternatively, an arm 9 can be provided that is removably attached to the housing 3 in order to be disconnected from the housing 3 and possibly to be mounted on another electrical module 2. Now, the first electrical connector 7 is described in greater detail. electrical module 2 and the second electrical connector 13 of an arm 9, with reference to FIGS. 3 and 4. The first electrical connector 7 is a female connector which groups together the first connection means 5 adapted to transmit a power supply, and the second 30 connection means 6 adapted to transmit digital data. The second electrical connector 13 is a complementary male connector of the first connector, which comprises third connection means 21 complementary to the first connection means 5 and the fourth complementary connection means 22 of the second connection means 6 of the electrical module 2. electrical connector 13 is oriented relative to the arm 9 depending on the angle that the arm 9 when the arm 9 connects two modules 2.
[0008] The first connection means 5 of the first connector 7 comprise a standard power female electrical connector conforming to the standard "IEC 603201" type C7. The third connection means 21 of the second electrical connector 13 thus comprise a standard power supply male connector conforming to the "IEC 60320-1" type C7 standard. Thus, an electrical module 2 can also be powered by a mains electrical outlet via an electric cable having at its free end a male electrical connector according to the aforementioned standard, as is the case for the first electrical module 2a, that by a another electrical module, as is the case for the second and third electrical modules 2b, 2c. The second connection means 6 of the first electrical connector 7 comprise a non-standard female electrical connector 23 according to the invention, said female electrical connector 23 comprising mechanical securing means 24 so as to be able to be connected only to an arm 9 of another electric module. The first data exchanged by each electrical module with the outside via the arm 9 consist solely of the connection data coming from another module. The female electrical connector 23 of the second 30 connection means comprises a female plug 30 defining a connection housing 25 inside which contacts are arranged according to the HDMI standard. The mechanical securing means are adapted to prohibit a connection of a standard HDMI male connector to the female electrical connector 23. Thus, a user can not mistakenly connect a standard HDMI connector from a different type of equipment (eg a camcorder) to the female electrical connector 23 of an electrical module 2. With reference to FIG. 5a, the mechanical securing means 24 are defined by an inner shape of the connection housing 25, which inner shape has at least one rib 26 located on at least one inner surface of the connection housing. In this case, the inner shape of the connection housing 25 has a first rib 26 located in the center of an upper inner face 27 of the connection housing and a second rib 26 located in the center of a lower inner face 29 of the housing of connection 25. When the female electrical connector 23 comprises the mechanical securing means 24 according to the first embodiment, the fourth connection means 22 comprise a male plug 31, visible in Figure 5b, complementary to the female plug in question, c that is to say a plug which has contacts arranged in accordance with the HDMI standard, and whose outer shape has two grooves 32 complementary to the ribs 26 of the connection housing 25 of the female connector 30 of the female electrical connector 23. In a second embodiment visible in Figure 6a, the mechanical securing means 24 are defined by an inner form of the connection connection 25 which is delimited by two side walls 37 each provided with a ridge of square or rectangular section 38 extending in a direction of introduction of the male plug of the corresponding male electrical connector in the housing. The plug 40 of the fourth connection means 22 then comprises complementary grooves 41 of square or rectangular cross section arranged to receive with the ribs 38. In a third embodiment, visible in FIG. 7a, the connection housing 25 is delimited by two side walls 43 in each of which is formed a groove of triangular section 44. The male plug 45 of the fourth connection means 22 then comprises complementary ribs 46 of triangular section.
[0009] In a fourth embodiment, visible in FIG. 8a, the mechanical securing means 24 comprise at least one protuberance 48 projecting from a front surface 49 of the female plug 30 to extend parallel to the direction of engagement of the plug 50 in the female plug 30. In this case, the socket 30 has two protuberances 48 located on either side of the connection housing 25. The plug 50 of the fourth connection means 22 then comprises two housings of 51 These protuberances 48 have a sufficient length to allow a more than partial insertion of a standard HDMI plug into the socket of the female electrical connector, but prohibit any electrical connection between the contacts of these two plugs. The invention is not limited to the particular embodiments that have just been described, but, on the contrary, covers any variant within the scope of the invention as defined by the claims. The housing of the electrical module can of course include other connection means for connecting the electrical module to an external power supply or other equipment. In particular, the housing may comprise a standard additional connector arranged on the housing and allowing the electrical module to exchange second data with the outside, said additional connector being for example a standard connector for accessing the Internet via a cable standard. The second connection means may be at another standard than the HDMI standard and for example the standard USB, Firewire or other. The arm can be telescopic and the connection means 21 and 22 can be mounted on a steerable support. The link data may have been transmitted by the electrical module 2a to the electrical module 2c and thus simply pass through the electrical module 2b, or have been transmitted by the electrical module 2b to the electrical module 2c.
